RPI= Rockwell Protocol Interface. There is a V42bis.DRV file on the
diskette, and the Software must recognise RPI for it to Interface that with
the modem. Any software that reconises RPI will have a driver included. RPI
based modems do not use RTS/CTS of the program, it too is RPI controlled.
There are not very many term programs that suport RPI for
V42bis. Right now I know of 3. (in order of ease of use).
Comit - by Tradewind - 818-335-7007
Bitcom Deluxe - Bit Software - 510-490-2928
MTEZ - from Wordperfect - 801-228-9915
NOTE: If you need modem-based V42bis (mnp) the cheapest Zoom modems
w/V42bis are the FCV/FXV (FC9624V FX9624V). They are commonly available
below $150 at retail or mail order.
